A New Chapter: The Launch of Ty Davies Intelligence & Insight

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey so far. Your encouragement, advice, and good wishes have meant more than I can say.

For those who don’t know me, I have spent the past 30 years working across digital transformation, service delivery, and leadership roles throughout the UK. My career has taken me from the private sector with Barclays Wealth to major roles in housing, local government, digital consultancies, and public services here in Wales. I have been fortunate to lead on programmes of real impact — projects that have transformed customer experience, driven inclusion, improved systems, and created real value for the communities they serve.

On 23rd July, I was notified that my role was at risk of redundancy. Since then, it has been an intense and challenging month — one full of reflection, planning, and, most importantly, action. While my main focus remains securing a full-time leadership role, I also recognise the realities of today’s job market.

That is why I have taken the step of formally launching my own consultancy, Ty Davies Intelligence & Insight (TDii).

TDii is not just about creating another consultancy brand; it’s about offering clarity, calm, and practical, real, and genuine support in an increasingly noisy digital landscape. I see a need in Wales — and beyond — for thoughtful, balanced perspectives on the use of technology, especially artificial intelligence.

Too often, AI is misunderstood or misrepresented. A recent example from my own experience highlights this. In the past month, I was refused the opportunity to present for a full-time role because I had Fireflies AI note-taker installed on my laptop. At worst, this tool would only have documented the conversation, providing no hidden advantage to me as the candidate. Yet it was seen as grounds for exclusion.

This kind of thinking holds Wales back. Instead of treating AI with suspicion, we should be finding the right frameworks to use it responsibly, ethically, and to everyone’s benefit.

That’s the kind of conversation I want to have through this platform. On LinkedIn, I’ve already shared thoughts around digital inclusion, AI governance, and the future of transformation in Wales. This blog will become a space to go deeper, share more structured reflections, and invite discussion.

I hope you’ll follow my journey as I continue to seek the right full-time opportunity while building TDii into something valuable for organisations across Wales and the wider UK. If anything I share resonates with you, or if you think I might be able to help your organisation, please do reach out.

I have written extensively on AI and beyond on LinkedIn already. Future posts will start here and be included there. I have copied across all existing posts for everyone’s reference here, and I hope you enjoy and find something new.

I am excited to see where this path leads.

September 1st 2025 is DAY ONE and this is just the beginning.

Diolch yn fawr iawn
